A strong faculty is the backbone of a great school. At King's Valley, our team works together to develop the talents and abilities of our students. Each of our faculty serving in a core area are certified through ACSI and/or the state of California.
Miss Stevens earned her BA in Liberal Studies from Simpson University. She joined King's Valley in 2013, and she hopes to instill a desire to know God in her students.
Alyssa loves to incorporate her creative and musical talents into the classroom. She also strives to use technology in the Kindergarten program in an exciting and meaningful way.
Mrs. Johnson joined the staff at King’s Valley in 2013 as a substitute teacher, teaching all grade levels. In the Fall of 2015, she started teaching Kindergarten. Mrs. Johnson has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Rhetoric and Communications from U.C. Davis and an ACSI teaching credential. She encourages her students to build a strong educational foundation while building a personal relationship with God.
Mrs. Gamez has been contributing to the success of students at King's Valley since 2010. Mrs. Gamez has taught primarily in kindergarten and first grade. With her degree from Cal Berkeley, and an ACSI teaching credential, Mrs. Gamez is also expecting to finish her California state credential in 2016.
Miss Hill graduated from St. Mary's College with a BA in the Integrated Liberal Arts, and received her Multiple Subject Teaching credential from CSU East Bay. She joined the King's Valley team in 2014 and is passionate about making learning fun, engaging, and meaningful for each of her students.
Mrs. Schultz is very excited to have joined the team at King’s Valley Christian School in 2015. She is originally from Concord, CA and is blessed to have the opportunity to teach in an area where she grew up. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a Minor in Art.
Mrs. Schultz has been teaching many years and enjoys working with students on phonetic based reading, comprehension skills and challenging math concepts.
Mrs. Maple has been teaching 2nd grade at King's Valley since 2002 and serving as Assistant Principal since 2006. She has a BA in Communication Studies from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Southern California. After spending fourteen years in non-profit management she received her CA teaching credential from Chapman University. She is additionally credentialed through the Association of Christian Schools International.
Mrs. Robinson has been contributing her talents to Christian education for many years as both a teacher and an administrator. Mrs. Robinson joined the full-time faculty at King's Valley in 2014. She has received her Masters degree in curriculum development and worked on science curriculum for the Association of Christian Schools International. She has experience in both elementary and secondary divisions and enjoys the challenge of each grade level.
Mrs. Shinn has been teaching at KVCS since 2005. She graduated from Cal. State Sacramento with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Human Development. Mrs. Shinn holds an ACSI teaching credential. She is passionate about making learning fun, engaging, and having students explore all their talents.
Mrs. Garcia is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, where she majored in Music with a double-emphasis on both piano and voice. Recently, while working with disadvantaged students in Antioch, she realized her passion for classroom instruction. Returning to school herself, she is currently a student at Western Governors University, where she is majoring in Special Education and will graduate with dual credentials. Mrs. Garcia has an extensive history teaching music in both private and classroom settings. She was married in June 2016 and has an adorable 9-month old yellow Labrador puppy named Leo.
Mrs. Hildreth received her BA with a double major In Psychology and Bible from Bethany Bible College. She has taught for over 20 years at King's Valley. In that time, she's been involved in nearly every elementary level and in the preschool running the successful Jump Start program.
Jennifer Farmer has been teaching here at King's Valley Christian School since the fall of 2002. She received her B.A. in Liberal Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education in 2002, and she also holds her ACSI credential. Mrs. Farmer has taught many grade levels here from first to fifth. She has a true love of learning, and believes in the potential of all her students.
Mrs. Leichliter graduated from Cal State East Bay with a BA in Liberal Studies (option in Early Childhood Development) and a California State Teaching Credential. In 2007 she began her teaching career in the public school system. She joined our staff here at King's Valley in 2009. Over the years she has taught in many grade levels from Kindergarten to 5th Grade!
Mrs. Lafferty has been teaching at King's Valley since 1998. She has a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She maintains a California Multi-Subject Teaching Credential and an ACSI teaching credential. She is an avid animal lover and runs the very popular after school science club.
Joining the King's Valley middle school staff in 2016, Ms. Lynn began her teaching career in 3rd grade, but has since found her niche teaching middle school English. She received a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English as well as an ACSI teaching credential. She loves to enliven her students love of reading and writing; and enjoys using these tools to help her students gain new perspectives on themselves and the world around them.
Pastor Justin LeLaCheur joined the King's Valley staff in the spring of 2012. He finished his BS in Pastoral Studies at New Hope Christian College. Mr. LeLaCheur has pastored youth and families for over 15 years serving as a College Pastor (Spokane Valley, WA), a Youth Pastor (Bend, OR), a Lead Pastor (Santa Rosa, CA), and currently serves as a Staff Pastor at Life Church. He also spent three years working with abused and traumatized children at S.C.A.R./Jasper Mt. Center as a Treatment Team Member, assisting Therapists in therapeutic rehabilitation of families and children. Both creatively and musically gifted, Pastor Justin is motivated to share his passion for the Bible with every student in his class.
Mr. Robinson had more than twenty years of experience as both a teacher and an administrator in Christian schools before joining King's Valley in 2014. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. His background includes teaching multiple grade levels and subjects. As an administrator, he has been part of the ACSI accreditation commission and has served on accreditation teams all over the state.
Margie Williams, theater arts teacher extraordinaire, has been creating a love of the arts at King's Valley since 1999. Margie enjoys having a positive and loving impact on the children at KVCS!
She has no fear of public speaking herself, so when not on campus she can be found announcing at her sons' sporting events. Recently, she has worked at St. Mary's College and collaborated with the "Travolta" family at a Performing Arts/Film Camp for students with disabilities.
Pastor Tim Owen graduated from New Hope Bible College in 1998. Since 2009, he has made his home here at King's Valley as athletic director/PE teacher and at Life Church where he is the Associate Pastor. He wants all of his students to know that he loves Jesus, and he is passionate about helping students reach their potential.
Miss Mandy has been a member of the King's Valley team since 2012 where she began in the Extended Care program. Since 2014, her role has expanded to include the elementary and junior high art programs where she helps students expand their art vocabulary and grow in their talent.
Mrs. Gonzalez has been teaching here at King's Valley since 2001. She enjoys teaching her students to succeed in reading, writing, and speaking a second language that will further deepen their cultural knowledge.
Mrs. Pouch began her journey here at King's Valley in 2002. Beginning in extended care, she has since worn numerous hats: serving as the school librarian, overseeing the technology lab, and managing the back stage for our performing arts department. She is passionate, creative, and an organizational whiz. (It's the only way she can keep up with all those hats!)
Mr. Van Liew helped pilot the King's Valley band program in 2014. In the fall of 2016, he joins the staff in a bigger role as the band program continues to expand into the junior high! Besides working with the band, Mr. Van Liew is also a talented artist specializing in watercolor.
